    Hi everyone,

Jb, I found comfort in that u seem to be surrounded by infertility... That came out wrong, at this end sometimes it feels as if I'm surrounded by the most fertile people in the world and despite their hearts being in the right place just don't get it! It's nice to now there are others who know!

Freakedout, we too have predominantly male issues though have tried iuis first.

a lot of you ladies seem to be doing down reg cycles... I'm not sure what mine is other then it is a 'sandwich'. I was completely read up on things, meds etc for the iuis but must be having a bit of educational fertility fatigue now! If anyone has any words of advice, more then welcome!

    good luck everyone

    Hello everyone,
my husband (34) and and I (29) will be starting our first IVF or ICSI cycle sometime in October. Sign consents and pick up medications on 4th Oct, then wait for AF, our specialist has suggested an Antagonist cycle.
We have been trying to conceive for 6 years, I have had left fallopian tube removed due to hydrosalpinx, hypothyroidism/hasimotos.

Nervous but excited to be finally moving forward!

    Good luck everyone

Hi everyone, I would also like to join this group. I am 32yo DH is 33, we are 3yrs TTC with 2 x MCs. Were sent away by our first ivf dr in Jan without any investigations as he thought it was unnecessary we were even there. We now have a new dr who is amazing. DH is all good but I have one blocked tube and the other with holes in it and am also reading in the high category for PCOS. Dr does not believe I have it but advises of an increased risk of OHSS. We will begin our first ivf cycle in October but are waiting this week for confirmation of our treatment plan pending our police clearances arriving in time.

Hi Ladies - I might join you I'm not doing my cycle till November, but I'm pretty excited so I'll just cheer on the October girls till my time comes in November. We're a little different as we'll be doing egg donation in Greece. We have male factor which requires us to use ivf/icsi, but despite my AMH indicating I've got lots of eggs, I'm a poor responder and they can't get the little devils out. The irony. So it's Greece for us. I start my synarel spray tomorrow, HRT (I'm not even sure yet what that involves, my doctors appointment is on 30 Sept) in October, we fly out to Athens on 2 November, and hopefully - all going well with the donor cycle - we'll have our 2 x 5d embryo transfer around 11/12/13 Nov.

Last cycle I felt like death - I blamed the synarel but to be honest I'm not sure whether it was one drug or the combination of all of them ... so I'm not really looking forward to the meds. Fingers crossed this is the last time . In the meantime I'll fill out all my paperwork for Greece - which includes ticking the right box about my complexion "dark olive or brown" ... ahhh, what about luminescent white!?!? Good thing hubby is Greek - otherwise my little Greek babies might look quite out of place

    Let's get UTD ladies!

    Hi,

May I also join this thread? Had an appointment with the FS today (post M/C and D&C). I'm looking to try my next FET at the end of October/early November, this time I will be using progesterone pessaries. He also sent me off for tests to see if I'm at risk of deep vein thrombosis as apparently there is some research to say the circulatory system can affect how the embryo turns into a fetus. It's normally not done until recurrent miscarriages, so I'd say he has an inkling that I'm high risk. I haven't looked any further into this but I bet I'll find something interesting on Dr Google!! If the tests are positive, they will have me on blood thinners too. Nothing is ever simple!!!

He also said to be prepared for a few failed cycles because given the chance of falling pregnant is 30% (he said "1 in 4"...similar stats I suppose) and I hit the strike rate last time (technically). I'm feeling a bit 'blah' after today's appointment, but all we can do is keep trying.

    xx

Hi Loolu, welcome. I also have to go straight onto progesterone pessaries once we get a positive. We are going away at Christmas too on some long haul flights and have been advised of the extra risk of DVT if we do get a positive before we go. I will be interested to hear how your results go and what they recommend if you are high risk (hopefully you're not though)

Hi Loolu, I'm so sorry to hear about your MC and D&C, its heartbreaking after finally getting that BFP, just too cruel. But the good news is that it sounds like your FS is thorough, far better to test early than late hey! But I wouldn't get too down about having already had your "1 in 4". Geting UTD first try is awesome - statistics, pah! Those stats are an average anyway, who wants to be average! Well actually, I guess now I'm on the wrong side of average I wouldn't mind being "average" at all But for you my dear, let's hope you are distinctly above average!

What I've always wondered is, how come all the different FS's don't all test for the same basics? I changed FS and he got a previous biopsy retested and discovered I have a large number of natural killer cells. Handy to know! Not that it has caused me miscarriages etc in the past because I usually can't get to EPU, but imagine if he hadn't tested and we went all the way to Greece just for it all to fall over because of NKC I didn't know I had!?!? And there must be girls with NKC who don't know (just like I didn't) and needlessly suffer chemicals and miscarriages. These FS's need to get some consistency going! Or is NKC something only some Doc's believe in? My last FS (first 5 cycles) was pretty conservative. New guy (6th cycle and the upcoming 7th cycle) is pretty aggressive. Anyone know the side effects of dexamethasone, clexane, Estradiol? There's more he's putting me on but I can't remember just at the moment ... whatever works. Speaking of work - better get back to it, bleh. 33.5 work days till Greece. Bring on weekend.

Hi Ladiesand hello again Shell80,freakedout44,JB and Loolu! so nice to see so many familiar ladies to me from previous threads (but alas not nice that we all are here again). Well after a very emotional 24 hours after getting our BFN from our last little embies stored away we have decided to give IVF/ICSI one more try. We were tossing up vasectomy reversal but given our ages Me 39 DH 42 time is a factor for us and we were advised VR can take years to fall pregnant, if at all...so its onto Oct/nov for us. We have decided to move to another clinic (Monash IVF) as we had the most terrible time with our last clinic and the FS we had was not to our liking at all. Our First app is Sep 30th and all going to plan we should start stimming on Oct 17th ( JB, we will be stimming together) I'm very nervous as last round I ended up with OHSS and it wasn't pleasant. The nurses at our new clinic have advised they will keep an extra eye out as its in my history. So wiggle over a little for me please ladies as I'd like to get comfy on the couch with you all for our BFP's in Oct/Nov ......and Chiefsgirl, its very sweet of you to check in...for you hun

Hello there. May I join this thread?
I am so happy that I've found this site as it's been a big help to me lately (although I must admit I am still getting used to the acronyms!)
Bit of background, me 33, DH 38. TTC since April 2012. MC in April 2013. DH has poor morphology, at this stage they think this is our main problem. Will be undertaking first IVF/ICSI cycle mid October. I am excited and terrified all at once, but also feeling full of hope and positive feelings
