So girls, I have started puregon a few days ago. Had my first scan this morning. Have 10 follicles but less than 10mm. So I have to go back on Wednesday. The FS has increased my dosage to 150 for puregon. I have also started on orgalutran. This jab hurts more!

Minib how are you feeling on the Puregon? Did you take Synarel as well? DF starts her Synarel on Thursday and then Puregon after that

This might be a dumb but what is the Orgalutran for?

Nothing is EVER dumb to ask when it comes to IVF... it's all very complex, confusing and hard to keep track of! Orgalutran stops you from ovulating so while the FSH is growing the follies it works to make sure they don't get released!

Hi rainbowbabe, agree with What JB said. There is no such thing as dumb question when it comes to IVF. It's very complex. I'm asking a lot of questions too. I feel fine with puregon. I didn't take synarel. Started straight on puregon. I don't feel any different to be honest. I can actually see a little bruise from the jab last night. How is your DF going? Any side effect from synarel?

Had our appointment with new FS and clinic today. I feel so so so much better now after the disappointing run I had with the other clinic. Our new FS answered so many questions for us...even before we asked them at times and I feel more confident with new FS only putting embies that make it to blastie stage put back in. I start on 250 of Puregon on the 20th of October. So relieved to have decided to make the change. Lets hope its enough for us to get our BFP! Hope everyone else is doing well!

Hey MiniB - that orgalutran sucks hey. It's a fatter needle than the Puregon one which is why it hurts more I think. I used to bruise with it sometimes too. At least I don't have to take that any more! But I feel a bit bad for my egg donor who is doing it in my place! Rainbow babe - hope your DF goes ok with the synarel. It gives me headaches, but not as much this time round as on my last cycle, but my hormones were out of whack last time and that didn't help. It tastes nasty too - so I recommend having something nice and tasty nearby (e.g. wine except the morning dose of course!).

So I can barely type a short post - can't help myself! And I'm about to vent, so I apologise for the long post in advance. So we've just told my inlaws about the egg donation. My sister in law says on the phone last night "So it's both of you with a problem? Me "Yes". SIL "You can feel a LITTLE bit less guilty then". WTF!!! What have I got to feel guilty about? I don't feel guilty at all! I feel a bit cheated by the cosmos, but I don't feel guilty. And I don't see why I should, it's not my fault - it's not DH's fault either. It just is what it is. I was so shocked I had no words. Still makes me angry ... she also couldn't see the big deal about egg donation "It's just the same, you'll still be pregnant". Is it really? Just the same is it? Don't get me wrong, I'm really excited about what we're about to do, but I still have to grieve the fact I'll never have my bio child, and I'll never know what a mixture of me and DH would be, and I'll never pass my new born child to my Dad and joke about about whether it inherited our dumbo ears ... Ok, so I'm not grieving those ears so much, but you get the drift. Argh! Silly wench. Nuff said.

I've heard two things, October or November. I'm starting to worry, about Christmas looming ahead. And this last cycle my last chance for the year. Can cycle 10 be lucky ???

I recognise some of you from other threads, I hope we all get our BFP very soon.
    Best wishes ladies
Oh Frances - I'm so sorry to hear about your ectopic- they really hurt and such heartbreak, I was so excited for you when you got your BFP. But this thread is a lucky thread, according to the ladies on here it's BFP's only You've had such a rough trot with a cyst as well! It must be your time for some good luck

[QUOTE=Booboo78;7471909]vixjc we have way too much to worry about . When are you headed to Greece do you think? QUOTE]

We fly out on 2 Nov - exciting! We saw our FS today, did a blood test to make sure I'm down regulated. Get my ovarian cyst taken care of tomorrow. Then apparently get a letter with prescriptions and a calendar saying what drugs to take on what days and when to have my intralipid etc ... Its not actually through an Australian clinic, its effectively treatment via the Greek clinic, so I don't have an IVF nurse, just the FS. Then a week or so before we fly out there is a scan and bloods to make sure my lining is thick enough and my hormones are doing all the right things before we fly out. If I'm not where I'm supposed to be, we delay the flight till I'm ready to go. All quite nerve racking - when you're throwing $20,000 at it, you want it to all go smoothly! I don't even want to think about it not working and paying again for a second try, I know its not about the money, but it hurts a bit! ... But success rate is 60% on first try, 80% within three tries ... I like the odds Australian FS is speaking to my Greek FS today -I told him to request a hot Greek babe for my donor , if it can't be my eggs, trade up I say!

Vixjc I am a firm believer in "nurture over nature"... they may not be your eggs but that little baby of yours will pick up Mummys traits and when he/she sits on Grandads knee he will say "You do that just like you Mummy does" and you will be able to joke about other things!! There will be an overwhelming feeling of love when that bub is put in your arms... all will be forgotten xx
