As a country I think we are suffering less from the tall poppy syndrome then we did 20 years ago.

As for me- I will treat you the same if you are homeless and stinky to high heavens or if you live in the biggest house in town and smell like freshly cut roses.

Yeah if you're judging by bubhub, Aussies also hate single mum welfare bludgers, SAHM's, mums who work and leave their kids in daycare, mums who are against daycare, school mums, and Tony Abbott

I dont hate the wealthy, I hate the pretentiousness that can come with some people who are well off, treat others like **** and think they are above everyone.

Everyone poops and all our farts smell just the same. Treat me like dirt, it will be reciprocated no matter your bank balance..

I think a lot of the time when someone thinks they're being hated on because of their wealth, or income, it's really their attitude that's getting people's hackles up. Things like assuming everyone else has access to the same resources they do, taking luxuries for granted and seeing them as 'needs', and accusing less wealthy people of being poorer because they haven't worked as hard.

I'm not directing this at anyone in particular, it's just what I've observed time and again.

Apparently a very high percentage of lotto winners suffer depression. I wonder if it's because they lose friends..?

Not people who just have money... just people who have money who like to bang on about how it's all because they worked so hard, and that anyone could have their wealth if they worked hard too (suggesting that anyone on less isn't working hard). Given some of the hardest workers are those who earn very little... people like that make me stabby.

I certainly don't hate wealthy people (I can't speak for everyone in Aus :P ).
My sister is wealthy, I know for a fact her and her husband have worked very hard for that wealth. I have never been treated differently by her, and most of the time I don't even think about it lol. She has been so very generous with gifts for my Babies (furniture, clothes, pram), and we appreciate it so much, but would never ask for anything.
Some wealthy people are terrible though, so it is definitely a personality based thing

And following on from this the assumption that everybody wants what they have.
