Default *Spin off* The moment when you realise your baby is growing up

A couple of hubbers have been posting today about older kids moving out and it got me thinking about those moments when you realise your baby has grown up.

One of mine happened a couple of days ago when I dropped DS2 at childcare and he climbed up on his chair to have breakfast instead of being put in the highchair. Just a little bit sad.

Anyone else want to share - and it doesn't have to be little babies either.

When my DS1 started riding his motorbike without training wheels and helped his dad herd sheep at the farm during feed time. Made me feel proud of him but also wonder whatever happened to that tiny baby of mine!

I took my 16 month old to check out a Childcare today. She straight away loved it. Ran off and played with the other kids. I got quite emotional and had to try not to cry right there in the centre. I know she is still very little but she doesn't need me so much any more. Waaaa. Being a mum is so bloody emotional. Number 771 of the things no one tells you before you become a mum!

I read in the kindly newsletter that graduation preparations were being made. It tugged at my heart. :-(

When they ring you and tell you that the night before their building was evacuated at 3 am for 1 1/2 hours because of a fire alarm and they did even ring you to keep them company.

My almost 5 year old DD has her first loose tooth, my toddler rolled over and went to sleep tonight without any cuddles, and my baby won't stop rolling over from back to front! But then he gets stuck lol

My 3 year old on a daily basis reminds me "Mummy I'm a big girl now!" While listing all the things she can do. Her latest is that she can whistle. My littlest baby can whistle! She doesn't need me for much anymore, not for getting dressed, putting shoes on, getting up on the chair (or kitchen bench!!! Grr), feeding herself...nooooooo.
My 5 year old I am expecting a wobbly tooth any day now!! And she has her first athletics carnival tomorrow!

Watching my 5yr old DS walk himself into his classroom on his own this morning. I can literally see hin enter his classroom from the car but he looked so tiny going in all on his own with his huge backpack!
