Oh, and the fact that they won't report how many boat arrivals there are. Maybe they know that can't stop the boats?

    Stop the boats.
    Buy the boats.
    Hide the boats.

    LOL

Assuming standard multipliers, cutting public spending by $70 billion from an economy the size of Australia's over a four-year period could reduce GDP growth by around 2 per cent and cost up to 90,000 jobs.
Instead of focusing mindlessly on cuts, Australia should instead seize the opportunity afforded by low global interest rates to make prudent public investments in education, infrastructure and technology that will deliver a high rate of return, stimulate private investment and allow businesses to flourish.

From Joseph Stiglitz is a professor of economics at Columbia University and a recipient of the Nobel Prize in economics.

But after all, who is he? Just some economist who has won the Nobel peace prize in economics. Why would we listen to him, when we have such pearls of economic wisdom on bubhub.

He wants to put a ban on the boat arrivals being announced through the media. I haven't seen anything else, they are being really sketchy about it. But that is just scary to me.

Oh, and they have mentioned going back to TPVs, which means that anyone who arrives by boat will never get a permanent visa.

Basically they will turn back the boats. where possible.

Anybody who comes on a boat will never be able to become citizens/get visa even if genuine refugee.

Buy the boats from people smugglers.

    That's what I've read/heard.

In the name of "defence" they will not release number of boat arrivals like the labor party have.

Our area relies heavily on the mines as well, from reading the greens policies, they would not shut down any mines that are in operation, but their policy is about moving towards green energy and retraining people in that area. They are also completely against CSG - which most of the people in our area are against anyway due to lots of food farming here.

It's really really scary. The first question you have to ask is "why!?"

It's unwarranted censorship and an infringement of the freedom of the press.

    I want to cry.
