Guilty as charged!! Sometimes it's being stuck in parent mode, other times it's because he may as well be a child!

Like when grocery shopping and I have to take his phone off him because after saying his name 5 times while standing next to him, he still doesn't pay attention.

No, I don't, but he does it to me, and its definitely not because he is in 'parent mode' (lol). It makes me feel crap, disrespected and I hate it.
He also does the whole 'if you didnt act like a child then I wouldn't treat you like one' which I resent so much! I do not act like a child, just because I don't act the way he wants me to. I find it quite controlling and shattering.

We are trying to teach our 3 year old to use her manners, as a result I have found myself reminding my husband to say "please", if he forgets.

I almost said it when I was visiting a friend the other day, oops

Lol my ex and I would before I even got pregnant... But maybe it's cause we're a bit immature and say kiddie insults etc anyways.

I have been known to say that to my boss - I have no issues in doing what someone asks but there is no excuse for not using manners!

If DH is frustrated he can sometimes speak to me like I'm one of the kids - I will always pull him up on it though (I am his equal not his child!) and he then spends the rest of the night apologising

At least he can see where he went wrong. Thats really good
It frustrates me that DF doesnt see me as his equal, like he is superior or something? Haha..
Seriously, it makes me cringe when I see couples acting this way, its just so wrong, but maybe its coz I know how it feels to be treated like a child.

Sure way to kill your love life: treating your dp/dh like one of your children. It's seen a lot in relationship counseling.
