There is nothing wrong with reporting at all. I don't personally do it usually - and the only reason is, that even if there is a fight going on. I truly, truly want to see it resolved by those involved. We aren't kids, we are adults - and I believe that sometimes you have a bit of an online fight, work it out, get over it and then move on - it seems to work better than threads being shut down.

One, that I found quite offensive, however it was (is) part of a pattern of posts from the same person along the same lines every time.

Not sure if anything was ever done, like did it meet the mods standard of offensive or did they think what was being said was ok?
Maybe I should have asked for feedback to know if it was even worth reporting?

Yes, I agree with this. I think bubhub is awesome at admonishing people who say nasty things. Someone said something pretty nasty to me and I was honestly so very touched by the way so many here stood up and defended me. I think in general the community here is pretty good at knowing what is a fair fight and what's not. But on the other hand, repeat offenders don't get banned if they don't get reported. So sometimes I will do both. I know the mods say don't retaliate, but I think it's really important for members to be seen standing up against some comments.

I rarely report but I did report a post which a mandatory reporter told me bordered on a description of child abuse and that if it was possible to identify the person she would report it to DOCS.

Usually just spam or when a thread title or something needs altering, but I have reported one post that was abhorrent and some PMs that weren't necessary.

I have once. A post that IMO had troll written all over it. Working in health I'll often ask questions for which the answer will pretty much give it away as to if the post is legit or not. I did it in this instance and the answers did not add up.
