Vile. And just a tragedy that Jimmy Saville got to live his life happily and in prosperity (which is how this all came about). Makes me sick that he got away with it and never had to face charges.

    Not surprised.
To me when I was a kid he always seemed like a creepy old man.

Hope he gets what he well and truly deserves.

The thing that shocks me the most about this whole thing is that people keep calling him an Aussie Icon? Heh?
I can barely think of anything he's ever done. I think when I was a little kid we had a game on our very first computer, a commodore 64, called "Rolf Harris Picture Builder". And that's all that comes to mind when I think of him, other than an old man who sang some songs once...
Is he really some sort of icon? Totally lost on me.

Yes - he is very much a British institution, didn't do much here, did heaps over there. Much like fosters.

As kids we used to joke about his song "Jake the peg" with his extra 'leg' and OMG we were right!!

I was quite surprised when the story first came out. I have grown up watching him on tv, and I have seen him on stage many moons ago, I would have never thought of him as any sort of predator. not ever thought of him as some dirty old man. he had a good 'image' and always knew how to entertain an audience. im disturbed that he could hide this so well. you just never now what is going on behind closed doors. I hope he looses his money to pay some compensation to his victims. I expect he will get a lienent sentence, given his age, but that will be unfair. marie.
