    This.

Believe me when I say if I could have chosen I wouldn't choose to be gay...

I love my partner with all my heart and I wouldn't change my life now. But if someone had said to me "you can have *your dp* and a house and a few kids" or "you can have *man* and a house and a few kids" 3 years ago I would have chosen the latter.

My life would be so different and so much easier if I was attracted to men.

But of course, there's no way I'd change anything now. I'm just grateful that I found love, and wasn't too scared to give it a go even though I didn't expect to fall in love with a woman.

    Natural = occurs in nature.

    Simple.

Take some time to look at nature, all the ways species live together and reproduce.

There is no "norm" across the board.

Completely agree. I would go far as to say that Jesus would be cringing and very upset with what the modern (and ancient) christian churches have become. The bigotry, hiding abuse. The wealth of the catholic church. It's really everything he spoke against.

Umm and yes I find 'unnatural' to be offensive. For many reasons.

    1) my capacity to love is just as natural as someone who loves a man. I love my partner, I'm also capable of loving children, my family, her family, my rabbit...

    2) if it's the sex that's unnatural then why aren't straight people who are into an@l unnatural too? Or women who enjoy oral?

    3) homosexuality occurs in hundreds of species. It's a completely natural deviation. In fact, more giraffes are homosexual than straight.

    4) the term unnatural implies abnormal. We don't use abnormal to describe people who vary from the norm (people with disabilities, or who are born with different coloured eyes etc) because it's offensive. And not true. Homosexuality occurs less than heterosexuality, yes. So does left handedness, and red hair. Does that make them unnatural?

I understand that you don't mean to cause offence but I'm pretty sure a lot of gay people would be offended at being named "unnatural". To them it is the most natural thing in the world.

There are meant incidences of same sex couples in nature. Where I live a high percentage of swan pairs are actually two males who have taken over nests and driven the female out and raise the signets. I'm not sure it can be said its "unnatural".

Personally, I believe that all religions are as bad as each other. But you know, if you want to be in one, then that is your choice, it has no effect on me or my life. Much like gay marriage has no effect on anyone else's life than those getting married. Pretty simple logic really, you can try and confuse the point with all the bible quotes, but it isn't working. Sorry that you have wasted all that time
curious thing is Im not sure that I have gone out of my way to quote scripture except when challenged by others. I think more scripture has been quoted by those seemingly against religion than me. I could quote reams of scripture and contest every thread I perceive to be wrong or inaccurate.

How am I cherry picking, dont believe I am, I made allowance for someone elses point of view and said to the effect 'if that were the case then ....' How ever I do not believe that is the case, it was simply the recording of some history. Peter denied christ 3 times, did not have the approval of God or Christ but it did happen and was recorded.

very simply the bible does not support same sex marriage. But who cares other than those that believe the bible, the general consensus is bible and state are separate, I agree that should be the case - the church should not be involved in politics.

I don't think there's anything wrong with something being unnatural. I do plenty of things that aren't natural. Some in the bedroom that certainly don't fulfill the 'natural' role of sex of creating new life (round peg square hole analogy can apply to heterosexual couples as well!). I dye my grey hairs which isn't a natural thing. I had a csec which isn't natural. I ride an exercise bike which isn't natural.

I think the term unnatural is accurate but it doesn't need to be offensive. I don't mean any offense by that I am a big supporter of same sex marriage.
My daughter is every bit as natural as my son.

She just happens to be Gay.

You are right C sections aren't natural but that doesn't compare to same sex couples because being Gay is not elective or a choice or a decision made to save a life. It just is, and thus it's natural.

I'd love it if a few of the people who are posting offensive things could come back later in life after having found out their child is Gay. Look into the eyes of their child that they love with all their hearts and tell them something as awful as " you are unnatural"

What's unnatural to me is prejudice.

Its mean and sad, and I'm so glad I get the privilege of parenting my daughter.

Good point. What is the difference between unnatural and uncommon. Hmmm.
