    Default Same Sex Marriage

Do you support same sex marriage? Why/why not? Do you think same sex marriage is a threat to your marriage? Do you presume a persons' partner is of the opposite sex?

I've been with my same sex partner for the last 6 years. We have considered being married in Spain, where my partner is from. Same sex marriage has been legal there since 2005. Unfortunately I don't see the point in us being married until it's recognized here... One day I would like to just be able to just say 'yes' when people ask me if I'm married, rather than having to dodge the question, come out to that person, or even worse lie.

Support it I don't believe in telling people who they can or can't love. As long as the couple are happy and its a healthy relationship that's all that matters to me be it same sex or not

Love is between two people regardless of their gender. Yes i am guilty of assuming someone's partner is of the opposite sex but I would never judge someone on that. I really hope same sex marriage is legalized here soon so we can stop being so backwards

    I most certainly do!
Who am I or who is anyone to judge or stop a marriage/relationship based on the individual sex of each the partners?
What business is it of mine if two people want to get married?
I know several heterosexual couples that should NOT have gotten married for a swag of reasons and several homosexual couples that would just be the perfect candidates for marriage

Yes, I support it. I think it's disgraceful that it's not legal here yet. I'm positive it will be legal one day soon and we'll look back and think of the current law as cruel and archaic.

Absolutely I do... For obvious reasons. Dp and I are for all intents and purposes, as married as my parents are. We share a name, our finances, we are having a baby together etc. Except we aren't "allowed" to be married. We probably wouldn't even get married if we could, but the option would be nice.

I absolutely support same sex marriage. I struggle to comprehend why anyone would not support same sex marriage.

    Yes I'm supportive ;-)
I'd love to be able to marry my DP legally. I call her my wife anyway! We had a commitment ceremony and registered our relationship. I just call it marriage, it's easier to explain at work.

I really don't see what my relationship has to do with anyone else's so I can't see why some people have a problem with it. I'm also not a threat to anyone else's marriage. I am with my soul mate and have to desire to be with anyone else ever.
