My children will all have casual jobs from 15 and they can save 50% of their pay to help contribute to their first cars along with some cash from us.

I think we might have to set a limit on matching though... Maybe up to $5k...

I'm not sure. I'll either contribute or I'll give them an interest free loan.

    I won't gift them a car.

I've decided I will buy my kid's their first car. It will just be some cheap little thing - around $3-$5K. They have to pay for everything for it (apart from initial full tank and rego) after that point, but meh... I think my life would have been a lot easier if my mother could have afforded to buy me a car, so I'll do that for my kids.

It depends on our situation at the time but I would put some towards it or else if they didn't have enough I would pay the difference between what they had and the cost and get them to pay back the difference.

We will definitely contribute. I think our level of contribution will depend on several factors.

We would buy or contribute im not having my kids drive around in a clapped out old sh*t box
i think its more important to have inexperienced drivers in safe cars then give them responsibility of buying one

It's important to me that DD have a safe reliable new model car. I will definitely be ensuring this happens! Unsure if we will buy it for her or she will contribute, will check back in 13 years

My parents bought me a demo model car when I was in year 12 and I am so grateful for that. It was awesome being able to take myself to school, work, uni, out and about!

It'll definitely depend on finances when the time comes, but if we can we'll match what they've saved.

I don't think a brand new car is necessary, my 92 Camry runs like a dream!! But DF is a mechanic so I guess that helps.
