Wouldn't bother me in the slightest. In fact id probably encourage him to go, especially if he rarely goes out.

It probably wouldn't bother me- I would go over to Mums, maybe order some take away and get a new movie to watch with a glass or 2. Actaully- sounds bliss!

Honestly, I'd be upset about it. Birthdays are special & I'd want some attention on my birthday at some point, even if it's staying in & enjoying your fav meal together.

I wouldn't be happy with not seeing him the whole day but that's just me.

Hard one ... I think I would be okay in the lead up.. But then on my actual birthday I think I would be a little disappointed he wasn't there to celebrate with me.

Can your mum stay at yours instead? That way you're not alone and dd's routine isn't upset

I'd be a little annoyed but given he asked first I'd suck it up and encourage him to go

I wouldn't really be upset. As you said he doesn't do much for himself.
We both usually take the day off work if either of our birthdays fall on a work day
and spend the day together doing something nice but I wouldn't be upset if we did it on another day.

MrsT- my mum has 2 young kids so not really.

He's going I've told him I'm okay with it. All good, but I think I'll probably feel a little lame on my birthday.

    Just thought I'd update.

DH surprised me by booking my birthday off work. He woke me up with presents and said get dressed we are picking up your mum and we're all going for breakfast at a location of your choice

He did go to the concert and all was fine DD and I stayed home and my mum came and stated over at 9pm.
