    Default Would this upset you?

DH is going to see a band on my birthday next month. He's seen them before but wanted to go.

He doesn't go out or do much for himself so I said I was fine with him going. It's a Thursday night and I figured we can celebrate on the Friday instead.
It means organising to stay at my mums with my 4 month old baby which is a but of a pain. (I'm a wimp and don't like too stay home alone overnight).

Would you be okay with that? I'm fine with it, not happy about it but not upset.
Do you think he shouldn't have suggested to go in the first place?

    Thanks

I would be ok with it - but i am a bit of a homebody so if he wants to do something that i dont want to then he can go. He doesnt do it very often and would not do it if i said i preferred not to.

Enjoy a glass or two of wine with your mum and watch a really girly movie!

Id be ok with it as long as he was thankful and asked before deciding, and I'd expect him to make an effort to make me feel special the next day

I'd be ok with it providing he asked first and that it was for something like a band. If it was just for a boys night at the pub then no.

But then I am use to celebrating my birthday on a different day as mine, dh and fil are all in a row so its never just my birthday anyway.

Like the other PP said I would be okay as long as he asked first, and hopefully he will make it up to you with awesome presents in that case I would insist!!

Thanks for the replies. i thought id be in the minority from people i've mentioned it too. Most people have thought it odd that I "let" him go but DH and I don't have that kind of relationship.

I'm the odd one out! I wouldn't like DH to go out on my birthday. But I'm the clingy type lol.

DH loves birthdays and wouldn't want to go out on mine. He takes holidays at work if either of our birthdays fall on a work day.
