The first time I tried this it worked beautifully, my hair was so soft and lovely. The second I tried it I made my hair feel awful and dry. Same coconut oil - I have no idea what was different to have two totally different results. Weird!

So strange! Does anyone know why? I would never have thought it would make ur hair feel so bad.. It's oil. Should feel nice or atleast a bit soft or oily afterwards

Yeah it is weird! You didn't go into the sun with it did you? That's the only thing I can think of. I put mine in a shower cap at all times. Also my hair was shiiiit when I did it, maybe yours was too nice already

I use it on my skin with awesome results, but hate it on my hair. I find it turns it dry and brittle and coarse feeling as well. :/ how strange. OP what kind of hair do you have to begin with? Mine is fine and blonde.

I tried it on my hair too and it felt gross. I don't even have dry hair, but I wanted to make my ends nice and soft and nourished. My hair was just kind of straw-like afterwards though, and i had to go wash it about 5 times to get the oil out... it was so gross.

Could it be that the oil wasn't washed out properly afterwards? I use oil (coconut or olive) on my kids hair when they get nits (which is all the fcuking time atm), and I find unless I wash it really really well a few times with lots of bubbles it can feel really yuck afterwards- not really oily, but straw-like. Not dry though.

My hair feels so lovely and soft after using coconut oil on it. I love it!

So odd. My hair is usually thick and a bit coarse because its curly. But not straw like. I did go in the sun but bit sitting in it. Maybe I didnt wash it out properly.. I just rinsed it out with water no conditioner afterwards. I'm too scared to do it again now!
