MsFaery, I'm glad you enjoyed the breast feeding class. I enjoyed mine. It was weird sitting there learning how to feed a doll and thinking that soon I'd be trying to feed a baby.

For any of the ladies reading along who have been in labour before.... What does the start of it feel like?
Since around midday today I have had a really sore lower back and wicked period like pain at the front - but stomach feels fine. I have a hot wheat pack on my crotch and that makes the pain bearable - walking doesn't make it better.
The thing that worries me is that if this is nothing or 'pre- labour', I don't think I can do this naturally!!

I didn't go into labour naturally, but after the gel went in, I had constant period like pain. It was horrible, and nothing was helping it.

Good luck MissX. Hopefully this is it and you'll have bub here soon. Sending lots of labour vibes your way.

Did you get the tummy tightening? Or just period like pains?? Because I am just getting serious cramps and no action around my belly whatsoever!

MissX it could be the start. You will surprise yourself will how much pain you can deal with but remember there is nothing wrong with using pain meds!

I didn't have any tightenings until after they broke my waters, just the pain

Alrighty - well I just had another quite painful cramp - will see when I get another and call the hospital later on.... Think the last few have been about 15 mins apart - haven't really been counting!

I agree that there's nothing wrong with pain meds.

My mum put it like this to me: you wouldn't expect to go the dentist and have a tooth ripped out without pain relief, so if you need pain relief to get a baby out, there's nothing wrong with it.

It made sense to me. I don't feel any less of a woman or mother because I succumbed to an epidural. I would have liked to have done it without one, but it didn't happen.
