    Default 2.5yo DS TT tips please :)

    My almost 2.5 to DS has recently made some great progression with his toilet training and I would like some tips on where to go from here.

    He will ask to go toilet after he has been (like a second after). He happily sits on the toilet and can see he has done a wee or poo in his nappy but thinks he has done the right thing as he asked for the toilet. Should I let him progress by himself into learning to ask before he goes or should I try nappy free for a bit so he see's the accidents?

    Subbing my DS is exactly the same as this and I'm not sure where to go next!!

    Oh I just remembered another question... Should I try to teach him to wee sitting or standing??

    When DS showed interest and understood the concept we went to undies with characters on them and focused on not getting "buzz" wet etc. We took him to the toilet to try frequently. We did standing for wees as he wanted to do the same as dad and when he sat his first wee went onto the floor! There is also some toilet training DVDs eg Elmo's potty time. Also you can try sticker charts etc. I think undies are good if you are home as they seem to get the idea when they can feel its wet as nappies absorb the fluid. Good luck x
    also DS got the hang of wees pretty quick but no.2's took a bit longer
