$1200 for gas and electricity last quarter! 2 adults and 2 kids. Hoping next quarter is cheaper.

We're on a plan that's $110 a month but before that with a different company we got a bill for $700 a quarter so I went onto energywatch and found the plan we're on now.

Curious as to how much everyone pays per kw? I think we're paying 0.26 p/kw since the rise.

And that's 2 adults 3 kids and no drier. We are lucky in WA we have a choice of Synergy or Synergy for electricity. And state government puts up electricity all the time it seems. And with no choice of provider we are stuck.

At the old house it was always over $1000 a quarter (most of the time it was a lot more, the most was around $1500). I suspect the wiring was pretty dodgy, the hot water system was also supposed to be off peak but I doubt that it actually was. We're low income earners as well, we were putting $100 on it most weeks to keep the power on.
We just moved in this house, its cheaper here (I know the water system is off peak so that should help). We're looking into solar power

    Our last one was $1500

Usually our winter bill is around $500. We did have visitors visiting from overseas, which explains the bigger bill. However, our usage doubled but our bill tripled.

We had the same problem with our last house. Really old place, probably dodgy wiring. Those energy saver globes that are supposed to last for years never lasted more than 2 months. We were constantly changing globes thru-out the house. So frustrating. Our electricity bills were usually around $1000 per quarter or more. And that was with gas cooking and heating, hardly ever used the aircon, and the house empty thru the day.
