Default How much is your electricity bill?

I was reading another thread where electricity was mentioned amongst other things, and I was surprised to hear how expensive some bills were. It's just the two of us DH and I and we don't spend more that $150 a month ever... Should we expect this to sky rocket once we have kid/s? We are not particularly careful with saving electricity, and the pc is permanently on...

Last one was $900. One before that was $1200. 2 adults and a 3 year old. It's absolutely ridiculous, in our old house it was about $500 a quarter combined with gas. I'm a SAHM and DH is low income, it's getting to the stage where we have to cut back on absolutely everything including food to afford it can't wait to cancel the contract with our supplier! Any recommendations for good cheap companies?

Summer anywhere from $600-$1000per q as we indulge in ducted aircon and in winter $400-$500per q (that's not using the ducted heating as brissy doesn't get cold enough) that's for a family of 7 with gas hotwater
