Question The clear out- pre labour

    Hi Mummas,

How long after your body went into clear out mode (soft regular bowel movements) did you start actively labouring?

As most pregnant mummies at 37 weeks, I am ready for baby to come and all of a sudden today I have been to the toilet 4 times and they are getting softer and softer. I am not feeling unwell like gastro or tummy bug and I have extreme back ache.

it will more than likely end up turning into a week of the full on runs. usually you go around 7- 10-14 days after starting the runs.

For me it was almost instant. Couldn't get off the loo and then started contractions. I was 39+4

I had mild irregular contractions fri evening, lost mucous plug sat morning, diarrhoea that day and contractions ramped up that evening. Waters broke Sunday morning. Born emergency csection Sunday almost midday. All the best :-)

Backache!!!! That's how my labour started. I had a really sore back all day on the Thursday. Got to hospital at 2am Friday morning & I was already 7cm, my DD was born at 10am on the Friday!
Good luck. Watch to see if the backache moves around the front.

Have you most any mucous plug or had a bloody show?

No loss of plug as yet. Have some pain almost like my ovary is on fire! Other than that just feeling fatigued.

Can't speak from experience but a friend was 7-10 days from onset of clear out to having a baby in her arms.

I had a full clear out at around 40 weeks and thought I labour was imminent... Even started getting contractions. A week later I was induced.
