    I think it depends on the temperament of the kids, and how comfortable they are with the grandparents.

    I have a nearly 5yo and a nearly 1yo, and we couldn't leave our eldest for more than one night due to his anxiety, and the baby is breastfeeding, so leaving them for weeks would just be impossible.

    Do yourself a favour OP & don't ask! You know your family best, go with your own intuition on this one. Peoples opinion on leaving their kids REALLY vary. Try not to let the fact that others wouldn't do it make you feel guilty either.

    I honestly agree with this. It's up your family unit including potential babysitters to decide what's best for you. Our opinions don't really matter.

    Congrats on 20 years together it really is a huge milestone & one that deserves celebrations & doing something really special.
