Being on plane without my kids makes me feel better. At least if the plane goes down they'll still be alive.

Thanks ladies. My mum is happy to look after them the whole time and is great with the kids. I would like dh's parents to look after them for a few nights to take the strain off my parents, but they have been avoiding the issue a bit. I'm a bit hurt that they haven't been as excited to take the kids as my parents have been. I thought they would be happy for us, it's for our 20 year anniversary.

I do think the kids would be okay but I feel a bit nervous about going and a bit guilty I guess!

You will have an amazing time! The kids will love all the grandparent time as well.

Yes, I felt exactly the same, but once we were on the plane I was fine (and of course the kids had so much fun with their grandmother, so they were fine too!)

Personally it would depend on who was looking after them and how close they were to them

This. I would personally leave DS for 2wks. He has gone camping without me for about 10 days and all was fine so 2wks would be nothing to us.

I'd be going for more than 2 weeks due to how long you'll be spending it in planes ver the 2 weeks. where are you planning on going in Europe?
Ive never been out of australia before so DP and I are going to europe for our honeymoon before we buy a house and have nother bub. We will be going for 4 weeks most likely & DS's father will be having him for 2 weeks and my parents for the other 2 weeks. I don't care what people think of us doing this, it's a once in a life time experience for me and I may never get to go overseas later in life due to health or financial reasons. Live in the moment and enjoy your anivesery! It sounds romantic

Dd is almost 3 and I haven't left her overnight yet. I'm not ready to do it and I won't until I am! It's such a personal choice. Good luck deciding op.

probably 2 weeks, provided they were being cared for by someone who they love and who you know they are in super good hands.
