My 2 year old DD has had two UTIs in the past few months. When she was diagnosed with the first one the doctor sent her to have an ultrasound, which I believe is routine for kids when they first get one, just to check what's causing it and check everything's okay anatomically with the kidneys and bladder etc.

So make sure your doc organises for your DD to have an ultrasound in the near future.

    Thanks everyone!!

I took her straight to the Dr last night as she was not well at all. Just waiting for the urine test results but yep its a UTI. Got antibiotics and will be going for an ultrasound after the 2nd urine test in a weeks time. Poor babe, I've had 1 UTI before that turned into a kidney infection fast and it was horrible. Got her into the bath late last night after we got home and it definitely helped. Had her medicine and had a good sleep. Hopefully the antibiotics kick in fast.

That's a smart GP who doesn't just treat the problem, but thinks of anatomical abnormalities that may cause it - hence the ultrasound. Stay with them.
