I think the bottom line is that most non vaxxers ignore all of the research anyway in favour of conspiracies theories and one or two dubious studies that they think proves their POV. So I doubt education classes will do anything.

You can dress it up however you like but if you vax you get the money, if you don't you don't get it, so therefore you get paid to vax.
I agree with a previous quote, you couldn't pay me enough to vax, I could be offered a million dollars and it would still be no.

Why not? Do you have religious or medical reasons for not vaccinating?

Again, you just recieve your normal FTB payments that you get all through the year, any year, you aren't getting more to vax. Just your usual payment. People are not getting paid to vax. People are, however, being financially penalised for not vaxxing.

If you don't care and wouldn't take a million dollars to vax what's the issue?

I should also add I find it interesting that when the Maternity allowance existed for vaxxing, those that didn't vax happily took the payment as well...

Yes, this is how I interpreted it too as families that are ineligible to receive the FTB won't be getting paid to vax.

It's not about me, it's about the people to whom $2000 would be a lot of money, who shouldn't feel they are being blackmailed to vax.

As this is a Rudd policy, which will only be enacted if the Labor party wins the next election, I don't know that they should be holding their breath any way.

Lots of reasons, still many unknowns, too many past mistakes etc. I did a massive risk assessment when my DS and decided not to vax, I certainly admit part of the risk assessment took into account low rates of vpd's in the community and high vax rates.
DS has intolerances so may be medically excused - have not looked into it

Just to clarify this supplement payment was put into place to help centrelink get back any accidental overpayments throughout the year, not so that it could be used as bribery as Hootenanny says below. These families are entitled to receive FTB, it has been skimmed off to allow CL to get back any overpayments at reconciliation and now they are planning on denying these families money that they are entitled too. This supplement isn't a 'bonus'.

I doubt very much we will be entitled to any FTB this fy anyway so it probably won't affect my family, nor will we miss it. But what Hootenanny says below concerns me.
