Ffrenchie - your story is inspirational.

I truly hope you are able to access the help you so obviously need and deserve.

I am disgusted by the way our health system is failing you and your family.

    Huge, huge hugs x

No, it's not. I'm looking at it now on chemist warehouse's website.
    http://www1.chemistwarehouse.com.au/...done&requery=1

Eg oxynorm 10mg capsules, pack of 20 costs $9.39 and Oxycontin 10mg Tablets 28 pack costs $21.69
    They are both oxycodone.

Ffrench, they don't always offer the generic, even when there is one. For example my friend who needs zofran for vomiting in pregnancy has been paying $40 for 4 tabs for 4 months and was the other day told there is a generic for $16, same amount. It's worth asking.

Eta often it's worth asking the dr for an authority script too so you can buy a few packs at a discount price.

Oxynorm is instant release like endone I think and OxyContin is supposed to be slow release. But that is a cheap price. I get oxy 20's but have to take a few at a time. Endone is only 5mg er.

Authority script? Like to get repeats? I can try but I'm not sure as I'm banned from my own scripts as it is. And apparantly dh can only pick them up from that one chemist. I wish I could go to one of those discount pharmacies. It's worth an ask, thanks xxx

OXynorm is the same thing as endone they are both oxycodone as is oxycontin but oxycontin is oxycodone in its slow release version. Not stronger drug but you can get it in higher doses such as 10 and 20 mgs its just so you need less 5mg tablets , it does also come in 5mg tablets. The difference with Oxynorm is that it can also be bought in liquid form and in the hospitals we can also get it in ampoules for injection. All very strong drugs as it is synthetic Morphine.

Also endone is 5mg where as the lowest dose of oxynorm is 10mg.

It's horrible that they refused to help you Ffrenchie. Are you still thinking of going to your friends in Brisbane to access outpatient services?

No oxynorm.can be bought in 5mg tablets aswell a lot of patients can swallow capsules more easily then tablets. They were originally brought out for cancer patients who find it hard to swallow anything when they are so sick which is why it is also in liquid version.
