If he had been 'tricked' into eating non halal meat I could understand but vegetables no way. He's lucky he's still alive to eat them considering what he did.
I think religious needs need to be met as well as dietary requirements, allergies, etc.
But if vegetarian does = halal then I don't see the issue. But I don't know anything about halal so perhaps there is more to it.
'Ḥalāl (Arabic: حلال ḥalāl, 'permissible') is any object or an action which is permissible to use or engage in, according to Islamic law. The term is used to designate food seen as permissible according to Islamic law. The opposite of this word is haraam.
Halal foods are foods that Muslims are allowed to eat under Islamic Shariʻah. The criteria specify both what foods are allowed, and how the food must be prepared. The foods addressed are mostly types of meat and animal tissue.'
just quoting wiki here - so If someone with more knowledge wants to correct this, go for it...
'If there is absolutely no other food available, then a Muslim is allowed to eat non-halal food. Surah 2:173 states:
If one is forced because there is no other choice, neither craving nor transgressing, there is no sin on him.'
Cmf: the bleeding might be all of 10 seconds where the animal feels pain and then they are dead
And the other way they are killed is better? They stunned then shot in the head!
Yes, but at least they're not feeling the blood drain from the body!

FYI I am by NO means anti-Islam (my ex was one and a very good friend is one) but lets call a duck a duck, ok? It's a horrible way to die, regardless of the animal.
