So true. They pull these kinds of stunts to pass the time and get attention. Nothing else to spend their time on.

If he had been 'tricked' into eating non halal meat I could understand but vegetables no way. He's lucky he's still alive to eat them considering what he did.

I think religious needs need to be met as well as dietary requirements, allergies, etc.

But if vegetarian does = halal then I don't see the issue. But I don't know anything about halal so perhaps there is more to it.

Halal literally means acceptable or lawful within Islam. So meat that is slaughtered the correct way, no pork etc- so veg meals would be fine.

'Ḥalāl (Arabic: حلال‎ ḥalāl, 'permissible') is any object or an action which is permissible to use or engage in, according to Islamic law. The term is used to designate food seen as permissible according to Islamic law. The opposite of this word is haraam.

Halal foods are foods that Muslims are allowed to eat under Islamic Shariʻah. The criteria specify both what foods are allowed, and how the food must be prepared. The foods addressed are mostly types of meat and animal tissue.'

just quoting wiki here - so If someone with more knowledge wants to correct this, go for it...

'If there is absolutely no other food available, then a Muslim is allowed to eat non-halal food.[3] Surah 2:173 states:

If one is forced because there is no other choice, neither craving nor transgressing, there is no sin on him.'

Whaaa? That's still 10 seconds of probable torture that isn't necessary.

IMO he should have his precious halal meat, laced with poison.

Yes, but at least they're not feeling the blood drain from the body!

    How horrific.

FYI I am by NO means anti-Islam (my ex was one and a very good friend is one) but lets call a duck a duck, ok? It's a horrible way to die, regardless of the animal.
