    Hi PreggasSarah

I don't have Facebook anymore but Thanks for the offer.

I know I need to do it or something ekse because I think I have more fat around my organs/viceral fat. I've seen ppl on tv lighter than me yet look bigger than me so their fat must be distributed differently.

Can't believe I've failed with weight loss surgery! !!

To the other op I tried duromine but I got yucky side effects from it.

To cut a long story short I desperately need to lose weight cause it's affecting my hormone levels and my endometrial lining is overactive. It was I think the final kick up the bum I need to seriously think about my health.

It's been 2 days only where I've made a conscious effort not to overeat or eat too much junk/sugar and I'm already finding it difficult! I'm going to ask my gp for duromine to hopefully kick start something. I've got 2 months till my nect hospital appt and I want to be able to have lost some weight by then.

I really want the band out...I hate it...to think I never even asked what it's life expectancy is!!! Also that it can erode into the stomach too is scary...but I doubt any surgeon would take it out at my weight.

After alot of soul searching I have opted to have the gastric sleeve, but I realise you cannot just pig out what's the use of having the surgery in the first place. Sassy Mummy is right after losing the weight the joy of actually choosing healthy weight it will come cos I have seen a UK docu that gastric sleeve surgery where your brain adjusts simply amazing!!! We all want to live a long and happy life and I see it that we are less of a burden on the health system by being slimmer etc!!!

But proudmumma it concerns me you still want to pig out on all those revolting foods after g/s surgery, its a big decision and we only want the best for you and your family.

I will look up the facebook link to gastric sleevers thank you and Sassy Mummy you have always given me incentive esp with your fab pics!!!!

OP, I think you could probably benefit from some counseling. If food is an obsession for you, then you need to work through your food issues.

I'm not being all wishy-washy here - I got banded almost 5 years ago now. I lost 30kgs straight up (it was hard work) then fell pregnant and hovered around 115kgs-125kgs for a few years. I've lost 25kgs on my own so far this year, which needed a lot of will power. I don't have any fill in my band, so it's like it isn't there at all.

Any kind of WLS you can cheat with, so if your issue with food is psychological I think you need to work on that also.

Hi I was sleeved 12 days ago and it was the best decision of my life. I'm still on liquids mushy foods but I feel so good. I have great energy no pain and slowly exercising.

I'm slowly introducing foods and since starting my preop diet 3 weeks ago I've lost over 10kg. It's exciting and I can't believe that I'm actually going to be one of those people without a huge weight problem.

Good luck on your journey. Research your drs. Xx

I know I definitely need counselling.

I've bern trying my hardest to wstch what I eat since last Friday. Cut down on snacks/sugar/junk. Even went for a walk yesterday but I'm finding it incredibly difficult with the reduction in sugar. I'm really struggling...it's like my body is crying out for it. I've still had it though but not as much. Like some ice cream. Sugar in coffee. A bit of chocolate. What I've cut down is the several times a day habit I had. What do I do

In all honesty, before my op I pigged out like there was no tomorrow. MANY people who have WLS get like that - go CRAZY and gain weight before their op.

For me, the taste of unhealthy foods changed post-op. Things just tasted GROSS after I had the sleeve... my favourite foods were vile. It makes it very easy to not eat them when they taste like crap. That's changed over time - but they're still not as tasty as they used to be, and even if I have McDonalds or something, it's no big deal because it's like 2/3 of a cheeseburger... not a large double quarter pounder meal with an extra cheeseburger like I used to order... so I don't freak out or worry too much about it.

So I mean... I didn't really make any changes pre-op... it all happened post-op.

I think that having this surgery is definitely a step I need to take. There's no iffs or butts about it.

I hope that my tastes change after it. Everytime I eat something I crave after it I think to myself that really didn't taste fantastic and I cringe at all the preservatives/fat I just consumed.

I'm hoping cause I failed with the band I won't have to wait as long for the sleeve. My referal is through the same hospital that re-banded me. My hormone imbalance is partly responsible for making me overeat but my weight is causing high levels of these hormones.
