Negativity in politics? This is a website which was set up by the labor party:

    ifabbottwinsyoulose.com.au

So far in this campaign I've seen heaps of liberal ads outlining promises. The only ads I've seen of labor are ones criticizing the libs. I want to see what labor would offer me in the next 3years. If you only went by advertising you'd think the libs are the only party with policies

    Rudd has said he will

    bring about marriage equality
    reinstate single parent payment shortfall
rejig the carbon tax to a floating price
    keep the school kids bonus
his very unpopular policy on the boat people issue
A record 14bil for universities and TAFES

these are just off the top of my head

I found this article interesting. That's a pretty big hole

I really don't know what channels you're watching peg, but I've seen just as many negative liberal ads as I have labor...there was one last night that I actually ask DH about one of the points made and if it was true. I'm sure if I searched google there would be a negative liberal site as well.

It's a campaign, I'm not really sure why there's a argument of who's more negative--they both are because they're trying to win people over to their side. Maybe I'm just used to it being American .

My point with the negativity was that Abbott's negativity has been going on for YEARS, not just since campaigning begun. It's tiresome.

Can someone provide a link to a site specifically set up by the libs to slander labor?

I am disappointed with labor campaign but Tony Abbott's campaign for the last 3 years has been negative.

I was disappointed with labors advertising during their reign. Advertising to say yes via ads with cate blanchett and Michael caton for a carbon tax we never got to vote on -wasted money to trick the public they actually had a say.

So sure, if Abbott had reacted to the introduction of a carbon tax any other way than negatively, I'd have been disappointed in him. It should have been arranged better than he was standing in front of those signs. The signs are a disgrace, but weren't part of his campaign

I have no idea if there is one. But find it perplexing that there's a belief that only one side is negative.

Maybe it's what we constitute as negative. Besides the very obvious negativity throughout the years it's comments like referring to marriage equality as 'the fashion of the moment' that to me are negative. I consider marriage equality a civil rights issue and to hear a comment like that out of a potential future leader is quite disgusting and offensive. It is demeaning the cause, rights and intentions of not just people in Australia but people all around the world who have and are fighting for a basic right. To me, a comment like that is negative.

I don't dislike Abbott for his tasteless gaffes, like with Bush, I just find them humorous (and perplexing) that he thinks certain comments are appropriate. I dislike him because of comments like above.

I've never suggested the negativity is one sided, however with people suggesting TA's negativity has changed the political climate without acknowledging the labor party's negativity I thought it might bring perspective.

He did support a carbon tax.
