They're both offensive comments, the difference is is that one is running for Prime Minister, the other is not.

As far as the photo...I would assume many politicians have their hair and makeup done and maybe a little airbrushing for their posters.

I never liked Latham, he was an idiot... and yep labor voter here While I will never stray from the core beliefs of how I think the country should be run, I'm not the sort to just blindly defend every single labor pollie just bc they are labor. I think the Libs could appoint an orangutan as leader and some would sing it's praises just bc the monkey was a lib

I find this offensive. To orangutans.

Honestly, Latham's comments were just as inappropriate, if not more.

Major difference though: he is not currently campaigning to lead our country. He is a former pollie, sure, but now he is merely "that guy who like to get on news.com.au and stir the pot". He isn't trying to convince voters that he is the guy we need, he just likes making the headlines.

I was never fond of Latham, and I am a Labor voter. Just because I vote Labor doesn't mean I agree with everything they do. Or every leader they choose.

Sorry to go back off topic and refer back to the previously mentioned argument against the Greens...but, this is one of their recent suggestions - Places that sell cigarettes should have Licences.
