Perhaps fathers point is that there are nutters on both sides of politics?

Yes and no. But I wouldn't regard Abbott as a 'nutter'.
My point is that it seems to be more about the side than the principle to most people on Bubhub. If one finds Abbott's comments 'disgusting'. Then you would have to assume that they would find Latham's even more 'disgusting'.
But..., that doesn't really fly with the 'Abbott is an idiot' agenda. Only comments from Abbott can be deemed offensive because he is on the other side.

For example. Peter Hartcher in his book said:
"It is undeniable that some Australians voted for Bob Hawke because of his irresistible sex appeal".
    http://books.google.com.au/books?id=ysBOxgkWl7AC&pg=PA9&lpg=PA9&dq="bob+hawke "+"sex+appeal"&source=bl&ots=G7m64bN5Cu&sig=VSHLK5 T4RfTIWCceG7R2byVc9QY&hl=en&sa=X&ei=nMEKUsHnCIyiig eLnIDABg&ved=0CDEQ6AEwAjgK#v=onepage&q="bob hawke" "sex appeal"&f=false

No outrage when he said that.

Labor obviously thinks that there is something in it. Left is Alannah MacTiernan now. Right is the current photo used in the ALP posters for the election.

Disgusting Labor campaign posters!!! So sexist!!!

Simple question, were you offended by Latham's comments?

I think the difference is that Abbott blurted his comment out of nowhere and Latham was responding to his comment. To answer your question, while I wasn't strictly offended by either, I do consider Lathams comments inappropriate, yes.
Re Allanah MacTiernan- what am I looking at that is sexist? A candid shot vs a posed publicity image is sexist how exactly?

Bob Hawke had sex appeal???? Are you sure that comment wasn't tongue in cheek?

As for the photo, lighting and makeup can do a lot for people. And why assume that the party chose the photo and it wasn't solely a decision of the person in question? After all, if it were me I'd want the one on the right in print as opposed to the one on the left.

But why? I'm sorry, I'm sure this will have been questioned by now but I am astounded by this. I fail to see the distinction between marijuana used for medicinal purposes, to any other pain relief which is commonly prescribed? People abuse prescription, legal medications all the time.. I don't see the correlation between that and people who genuinely use something for 'medical' reasons??

Yes totally ok, don't care who said what or when. All this is about is that Abbot annoys us so much that we will leap on everything he says for no reason...poor little man
