    Default Infertility

Hello everyone, glad I found these forums, hubby and I have been TTC for a few years now but nothing was happening, finally bit the bullet and went and saw a specialist, lots of tests, needles for ivf and surgery for hubby and we find out on friday he's infertile. Drs are unsure why, he's perfectly healthy. It's very hard for me to even think about a donor as I don't want him to think that the baby isn't his, any thoughts?

Very! If we want to use a donor it's an 18 month wait, ugh!

    Hi binkie
sorry to hear the news. Must be a very hard time for you both

my dh had very low morph. He is healthy fit etc so confused us. We saw a naturopath and his sperm is now above average (within 6 m9nths) cost a bit but worth it. Have you tried any vitamins or herbs?

    Good luck xx

Not sure if it'll work, dr said there was no sperm there at all and he apparently had a lot of damage around that area.

Hey lisa35 just wondering what naturopath u went to? Would u recommend them? What sort of supplements did they put ur husband on? My DH has just come back with 1% morph devastated. Our FS said there was nothing we could do about it but I didnt believe them so was going to go to a naturopath as our next step. Was ur DH taking menevit? Mine was so we were shocked at the results. His count and other levels were fine it was only the morph that was low.

Sorry to hear binkee that must be really hard how old r u & ur DH? Maybe see if u could talk to a counsellor as im guessing it would b a very emorional time for u both ihope ur ok

Hi @Binkee, sorry I missed this thread earlier. If you pop on over to the IVF section to the forum there are currently a number of threads that might help. Sorry I don't know how to link to them but try 'the male infertility chat', 'Azoospermia' and the 'Donor Sperm' threads. Unfortunately it is more common then you might think, but there is plenty of great advice on there.

Depending on the cause of your infertility I would be very sceptical about a naturopath being able to help. In my 8 years of dealing with male factor infertility I have never heard of it being successful before.

Hi hummingbirddont listen to fs. Ours had me crying for a week. There are some cases where not much helps other than ivf but other drs we saw did sperm does change! Dh took paternal plus, a good co q10, high dose of vit c, high dose of calcuim, and fish oil. By six months it was fixed and his sperm is above average. My fs is on maternity leave but if you can find one that specializes in fertility thst would be good. Francesca neish has a great natural fertility book and ruth trickey. Take care of yourself, it'll take at least three months so use thst time to get you eggs snd his sperm in great condition!

Thanks lisa. I will definately look into it. What percentage morphology did ur DH have? Mines was only 1%. Was ur naturopath from 'fertile ground' at all? I was looking into seeing one there but not sure who to choose.

Was ur DH taking menevit when he first had low morph? Im worried that menevit could have made my DH morph worse :/

Thats great news it helped u so much. Fingers crossed it can help us too. Im tempted to take him off menevit for a few months first tho!

Hi girls.. I just thought of pop in..
I'm sorry Binkee for the bad news.. We all seem to get our fair share of crap news on this journey!
My DH had a test and had low count, motility and 0%morph.. He changed underwear, stopped drinking in the week, cut down on the gym, took Menevit and zinc, ate lots of asparagus and pomegranate juice ( lots! ) and 3 months later all his stats are normal apart from morphology.. It did go from 0% to 1% in 12 weeks tho!
My friend also just got a natural conception with her DH's low count and morph.. She's my flagship girl of hope! I'm praying I'm lucky too..
    Baby dust to all xx
