    Default Uni applications?

Does anyone know if completing a diploma in one field of study would help you gain entry into a uni course in a completely different field?

I'm currently doing a diploma in something i really hate. I want to try and get into uni and study something else that i only have a cert IV in. So would the diploma help me gain entry or would it just be based on the cert IV?

I would contact the admissions office / faculty office of the uni and course you want to gain entry to and ask them as it can vary.

My initial degree was in engineering and I got accepted very easily into a post-grad entry law degree using my weighted average from my engineering degree as the basis for entry; two completely unrelated fields. I think having proven your ability to study and dedication in completing a prior diploma/degree is what they take into account.

It depends on the uni and depends on the course. My uni looks at whatever you did most recently.

You could just call and ask what the admissions is selected on.

Yes a diploma helps. I am not sure on the in's and out's but I got into Nursing from a Diploma in children's services.
