    Default Newborn Medicare/PPL/FTB

    I'm so confused about the process for organizing my baby stuff. All I have so far is his birth certificate! What to do next? Please!! I need to get him on my Medicare card, lodge my PPL and FTB. Oh dear.

    The hospital should have given you the forms for your PPL? Take them into a Centrelink office. They can also do Medicare cards but it will be a lot quicker to go to a Medicare officer directly as well.

    They should all be in an envelope? Mine were anyway. I took it to Medicare and they forwarded a copy on to centrelink for ftb.

    Yep I received a newborn pack with all the forms we needed and instructions on the day he was born. We also had strict instructions to not lose it lol

    If you have lost the form from the hospital you can lodge a claim online for FTB and PPL then lodge a copy of the birth certificate with Centrelink. For Medicare take the birth certificate into a Medicare office and you can fill a form out there to enrol bub on your card. Other than that there's not really any other paperwork. Just organising a family dr if you haven't allready got one.

    Okay, I think I have found my form! What a super fun way to spend my Saturday night!
