Default Known Egg Donor - Medicare question

Does anyone know if you use a known person to donate eggs, are there medicare benefits available or do you pay the full cost?

    TIA

Hi Angelmama74, I have done 2 known donor cycles with my sister in Queensland. On both occasions I paid for everything up front and was able to claim some of it back through Medicare. It was several years ago and I think from memory my sister had to actually go into the Medicare office and sign something so that I would get the refund in my account instead of it being paid to her. Good Luck

I am doing donation and have been able to swipe my medicare card at different times. As I am the donor I don't ask how it works so do not know how much medicare is providing.

Makes no difference in medicares eyes if they are known or not. About 80 of egg donations are known,

Mummy of Max 2 from donor eggs from my lovely sister.
