You shouldn't have to ask if you should report it... Of course you should! Immediately!

    - I gather you know that already and wanted to vent about the disgusting behavior you witnessed (understandable).

Report it. Losing your cool is one thing, kicking your child in the head twice is not losing your cool that's abuse. Far out reading that made me angry so I can only imagine how you feel!!

Edit: if this is happening in public imagine what she does behind closed doors.

I rang the police..I am waiting for them to call me back..its no excuse but I was kind of in two minds about..because what if she gets investigated and takes her anger out even worse on her son...but then if I did nothing. .and something happened to him id never forgive myself.

Good on you for ringing though! They are probably swamped, but from experience, they will definitely do their best to get to the bottom of it. I witnessed something very similar not long ago and reported it..

You did the right thing. Hopefully your report plus the CCTV will be enough for them.

Are you ok? It's horrible witnessing something like this

Absolutely report it! That is horrifying... I have always been appalled by violence towards children but now that I'm a parent I can't possibly comprehend how any parent could do that to their children. The love I have for my son is overwhelming.

By reporting it, you could potentially save this little boys life ... As everyone has said, if she's comfortable doing that in public, I can't begin to imagine what she does at home! Absolutely terrible!
