Default Short cervix at morph scan

    Hey all.

Just wondering if anyone has been in the same situation regarding a short cervix. I had my scan today and it's measuring at 2.8cm. This has me freaked. Last pregnancy at this gestation I was 6.4cm!
I tried to go see my ob and ask him about it, but he couldn't see me until he had the report. The scanner guy said he likes to see the length at 4cm but 2.8 isn't too bad.
I am really worried as a few weeks ago I lost a glob of mucous after intercourse and I am thinking it's linked.

Mine was 2.7 at around 24 weeks. At first obs were a little concerned but they gave me regular scans and I pretty much stayed around that measurement.

From memory the specialist ob said that it would only be a serious concern under 2cm

With my last daughter my measurement was 2.2 at 20 weeks. They were a little concerned and kept an eye on it but I never had any problems with it.

Mine was only 1.4cm at 19 weeks. They were going to put a stitch in if it got worse and scanned me every fortnight. I also had to go on progesterone pessaries and light duties at work. That seemed to so the trick because ds was born very healthy at 39 weeks

    Good luck. Xx

My cervix was 2.5cm long and 1cm dilated at 24 weeks, had been 4.5cm long at morph scan a month earlier. I was put on strict hospital bed rest immediately, and my twin boys were born at 25+6 weeks. I was told many many stories of women with a cervix much shorter than mine who lasted a lot longer than I did, I was just unlucky.
I would be resting up until you can see your obs and get a plan of action! All the best!
