Default Stage 3 formula or cows milk

Hi all dd is 11 mo old and I was thinking of beginning the transition the either a stage 3 formula or cows milk. Which do you do? I know they say cows milk is fine and stage 3 is a gimmick I just want to give dd what is best. And also with cows milk which brand milk do you use is there a difference between home brands and expensive brands etc.

My boy is 13 months and I have just started giving him milk with his morning breakfast and cereal to see his it goes, he is lactose intolerant so made it a bit harder but I have also kept him on state 2 formula as it has more in it for them

We went straight to full cream cows milk at 12 months with no problems at all. I do believe the stage three formula is a gimmick like you say and as long as your little one has a varied healthy diet there is no need for anything else. Unless the bub has an obvious intolerance of course! We don't buy branded milk just one that has no permeates in it.

You can keep her on stage 2 for a little longer if you like - DS was until about 16 months ( was only having about 150ml a day anyway by that stage) and then he just had water - and sometimes an afternoon smoothie with either goats/almond or A2 milk ( easier to digest protein)
there are plenty of other foods for calcium if that's what your worried about - cows milk is not a formula substitute its just a drink , just make sure if you do give cows milk not to give with meals as it does hinder iron absorption and not to give too much as it could fill them up and they may not eat as much

Cows milk, in a sippy cup, I'd try to cut it down to only a couple of cups a day. Stage 3 formula is a gimmick, made so they can advertise it as they can't advertise baby formula. Once they are past 12 months and on solids they don't need an enormous amount of milk anymore.

We use A2. At 13 months we stated doing 1/3 milk to 2/3 formula do a week, then half and half and then 2/3 to 1/3, and had no issues.

He won't take it from a sippy cup yet but I'm not bothered.
