Default Have you got Solar Power?

    Have you got solar panels?
If you do, what size system do you have and do you find it's worth it, take much off your electricity bill?

    Thanks! x

We have a 2kw system (8 panels) and get 24c/kwh rebate. Last bill (autumn) we generated almost $200 worth of credits. We paid $3500 for the system a couple of years back. Fully expect to earn more in the summer quarters. Rebates have decreased dramatically and in some cases are only 6c so systems are nowhere near as good a thing as they were when rebates were 10 times that.

I had a 3.5kw system installed last week for $6000. It's not turned on yet, I was told I should get around $1000 a year back.

We have a 3.5kw (I think) system which was installed last year. Rebates are far lower than they used to be, we shopped around and got 12c/kwh back.

I am home a lot during the day, and we try to do most of our electricity requiring activities during sunlight hours (running dryer etc).

It has saved us some, but I would say half of what the salesperson said. We figured they would overstate the benefits, and they certainly did. They are a huge selling point these days, we got them to save $$$ and to have as a feature when we sell.
