TAFE won't give me everything I need. With the Bookkeeping Inst It will give me all the hours I need to have worked with/studied with a TAX agent to be qualified.

Once course is complete I won't be in a position to get a different job and work up the hours needed to be qualified

The main reason for the career change to something I can do at home is because I get really sick and is getting worse, so need to work from home where I can control the environment.

Look around - I'm doing bookkeeping online and had I known what I know now, I would have chosen differently. It's expensive - even through TAFE it's around $1000 without any concessions and you do need to do hours under an accountant to be qualified. I've been doing books now for 20 years and just wanted to be able to lodge a BAS, but instead I'm writing procedures for hours and hours on how to run an office. Boring!
