Default Another paid parental leave question

I'm due Feb 26th and want to get ppl, how early before birth can I start my mat leave and still receive it?

Also I don't know if I want to return to work. If I get ppl and then decided while on maternity leave that I don't want to return to work what happens??? Can I do that???

    Tia!

Hi I'm not sure about mat leave and when you can take it etc but with PPL you have to be working to get it - I don't believe you have to go back to work. That said, if you are planning on another baby after this one, you would only get PPL next time if you worked in between. HTH

You can start mat leave anytime as long as you fulfil the requirements for PPL (you have to have worked a certain number of hours for a certain number of months before having baby).

You don't need to go back to work, unless of course you want another baby and want PPL again you need to fulfil those requirements again.

You had to have worked 10 out of the 13 months before bub is born. That can be as little as 1 day a week, but you could not have had more than 8 weeks between working weeks. It doesn't matter if you don't go back to work.

    Hope that makes sense!
