hi degrassi , im glad your brother stood up for himself and handled the confrontation so well. This might be a good lesson for your brother, i hope it doesnt change his personality, but it might just make him a little cautious with people. Make sure he understands that the 'friend' did the wrong thing, but he didnt do anything wrong. Marie.

Oh Degrassi, it's terrible that your brother has now lost a friend all because the 'friend' chose to be opportunistic against someone who is vulnerable. But big kudos to him for having the confidence to stand up for himself, despite being gutted and knowing he will no longer have him as a friend. It's very easy to say, 'I would have said this or done that' (as an outsider) but when someone has an intellectual disability it can often be a challenge and a tad scary to confront someone, so give your brother a big hug and a big for doing the absolute right thing by himself.

I do feel sorry for your brother...but i also wonder how you/he know for sure the money was stolen by his friend.

Good on your brother for confronting this 'friend'.

As much as the situation sucks I hope he is able to learn from it.

My brother is similar with trusting and it's heartbreaking when something like this happens.

I guess we will never really know for sure if it was his friend. None of us wanted to believe he could be capable of this, but the friend displayed some suspicious/dodgy behaviour during the visit and blatantly lied a few times when questioned. I instantly doubt anyone who lies.

It would be awful to think he has been wrongly accused, but there is enough evidence to draw conclusion. That and my brother hadn't been anywhere to spend the money in the first place.
