Formula. For me the benefits if breast milk aren't enough to outweigh my concerns over using donated milk. Not to mention the hassle & cost in sourcing it.

I fed formula for DS1. I'm honest donor milk wasn't common enough to even be on the radar for me. It was either BF or FF and I couldn't BF so FF it was.

Been there and we FF now.

I wouldn't be comfortable with using donated breast milk as i really just wouldn't know what's in it.
At least i know what's in formula and there is nothing wrong with it...

Been there. I expressed for as long as I could and then switched to formula. If we had milk banks with tested donor milk like they do in Europe then I might have done that first. But I don't like the idea of getting it off people when you don't know their history etc.
The other thing I noticed, with the donor milk groups on facebook, is people will say "I have 40 mls of milk in Engadine" and another person will be like "I have 30 mls in Parramatta" etc - All that running around for less than a full feed. Logistically it makes no sense.

But it was definitely a really hard decision.

My sister and my bestie are lactating and have produced robust healthy boubbas. We've already discussed if anything were to happen to me could they please share milk with my bubba. I know that artificial milk is safe and perfectly adequate but I don't like the thought of it for my baby (unless there was truly no other option obviously) I see breast milk as such an amazing gift.

We are planning on co breastfeeding. DP is going to carry our baby and I will look into being able to breastfeed as well. If for some reason DP is unable to, I will hopefully be able to.

If neither of us were able to, I would probably use formula. If we had a premie, I would look into donor milk for at least some time

Formula. Donor milk should go to prem babies before anyone else.
