    Hi all,

I haven't been on for a while, as we have had nothing happening until today. We changed clinics, saw our new dr yesterday and I really like her. We have been told there is still a chance that my DH is still producing some sperm which they will take with a day procedure, an tese, pisa and maybe a biopsy if they think needed. Then if there's sperm there we will know on the day, and it will be frozen, then he will heal for a couple of months and we will do a cycle. If there are no sperm then we will book on the donor program. It is all gonna take months to get near a cycle, frustrated at the moment. But am trying to positive and use the time to lose some weight and get healthy. Just trying to keep hope alive.

well have just heard from our FS and DH tests were ok enough to go ahead with the collection via needle of sperm. So we may still have a chance to have our own child, a little frustrating the wait but it will be worth it. Plus fives me two to three months to get more healthy and lose some weight, just trying to see the upside. Plus it means we won't be eating more money going through a cycle with no boy bits available. As we all know this is not a cheap endeavour and we don't have endless amounts of money. So won't be stiming this cycle, won't know until the 9th of October what we are doing. So probably not doing a cycle until December or January.

Rainbowrain - the FS said that as they were only 10cell on Day 5 rather than blastocysts they were slow growers so a 'slim' chance they would implant, but they were the best of the 5 fertilised eggs we got. I guess slim is better than none. Yes, the names came when a friend was trying to give us names for a bub and I said Bob and now it's stuck!

Heartstringz you poor thing, there is nothing worse than uncertainty in your workplace, especially when doing IVF, calling the employee assistance line is a great idea.

JB - I'm so sorry I've not posted a welcome back hi!

Nicole, while a bummer you have to wait, at least you have a plan, and can use the next couple of months to get healthy.

Hi ladies, have to drop in & share...I am currently 10dp4dt and have been testing since Wednesday. Both Wed & Thurs test were extremely dark so I called the clinic and asked if I could get an early scan today rather than wait all weekend for my scheduled blood test on Monday. Results are in... HCG - 166, Prog - 1874. This is our 3rd IVF cycle but first double transfer. Both other cycles ended up in early M/C. I want to get excited but am so scared that something is going to go wrong. Our clinic is thrilled and said they expect numbers of around 150 at 17dpo so we are already past their benchmark with 3 days to spare... Repeat bloods on Monday to check levels are rising, but optimistically

Minib- at my clinic the nurses do the scans and bloods, so the dr only sees the paper work. Obviously the nurses just sure good follie and didn't think much of it. When the dr had a look she said it was not in a good posi as that ovary was tucked up under my uterus. She said if I had low AMH she would have done it, but being my first cycle thought cancelling would be a better option for me.

hope this is clearer. Thanks for the thoughts ladies

    Hi all,
Had my EPU today. As we thought, they only got one egg. So we need all the luck to come our way to get it fertilised, and last till transfer.
Felt a bit groggy of course coming out of the anaesthetic and got my friend to bring me home.
I got home and got a call from my mum, who was supposed to go to a funeral today, hence she couldnt take me today to and from EPU, and she said that my dad has been in a car accident and is in intensive care in hospital - he broke his sternum and is so lucky that nothing else is broken or wrong. I was able to speak to him and held it together, but as soon as I hung up I just lost it with uncontrollable crying. I think its a combination of what I had just gone through myself, along with the shock of my poor dad.
My finance has to work so he wont be home till prob midnight.
Luckily I have my best friend and her hubby and 2 yr old arriving soon to stay the night - something that was already planned. So will look forward to the company to take my mind off it. I was told not to visit my dad tonight as he is in too much pain and on morphine, so will wait till the morning.

    KLM,

You poor thing, what a day if IVF was not horrible enough. Then to hear about your Dad being in an accident. Glad you have people around you tonight.
Hope he is going to be OK.

    Big hugs xx

Oh KLM, you have had a tough day... That is good your friend & fam are coming to keep you company (and make you lots of hot chocolates!). I really hope your dad is ok.
Sending good vibes to your little trooper...that fertilisation is smooth & successful. Xxx

Heartzstrings- I hope you get some answers & support soon, it's awful being left in the dark like that!

Nicole, it is good that you have a plan, even if it means more waiting.

And Chiefsgirl - although I feel your pain regarding your wind... I had to laugh. You might find this funny: my 14 mth old DD blows raspberries whenever anyone lets one rip - including herself... And she points to the source of the original noise!

    Hi ladies,

sorry I'm in a hurry and can't reply personally to everyone but will do so soon.

Just a a quick go around...

Bettie- sorry to hear af looks like its on its way! Hoping it just a bit of spotting and nothing more
STC- congrats on positive results so far! Really hope this one sticks for you but I understand that it would be hard to be completely excited!
KLM- sorry to hear you had a tough day and got less eggs than expected! Fingers crossed that one is enough for you! Hope you are feeling better.

Just wanted to say my first follicle scan was today. I have 13 follies, 10 of good size and the other 3 a bit small. They said to expect EPU for Wednesday next week. Then took bloods but phoned this afternoon to say my oestrogen levels came back really high so I'm back tomorrow for a repeat blood test to check again, however based on the blood test, looks like they need to shift EPU forward to Monday...eeeekk!! Wasn't prepared for it to be that soon! Trigger would be tomorrow night and ET would be in 8 days time on the Saturday.

Will find out tomorrow afternoon about the second blood test results and will check back in! Hope everyone else is well!

Stc, congrats on your bfp! I can only imagine how nerve-wracking this time is for you, but stay hopeful, your numbers look good :-)
Heartstrings, sending you a big hug. As if you need anymore stress.
Bettie, I'm sorry to hear about af.
KIM, it only takes 1 but I know how disappointing it is. I cried for days when we only got one.

Afm, af has finally arrived, and would you believe I wasnt actually prepared! I have been in the bath since 3am because silly me didn't get any panadine and day 1 is always unbearable. Although in pain I'm doing a little happy dance, can't wait for the clinic to open so I can find out what happens next.
