Default Stomach pain immediately after drinking alcohol?

I'm breastfeeding so only have one or two drinks at night after DD is asleep. Before I'm usually half way through one drink I get horrible pain under my ribs that subsides after about 10-20 minutes.
I have a doctors appt next week as I read that could be a symptom of hodgkins lymphoma and I want to rule it out.
I doubt it could be an ulcer as I drink diluted apple cider vinegar and have no issues with pain after consuming that or anything else- just alcohol.
Has anyone else experienced pain while drinking? What was the cause?

Sounds like an ulcer to me, it can present in different ways.

Good luck - I hope it isn't lymphoma!

I did for a while and it was really bad indigestion and heartburn. I would only get it from drinking certain drinks like bourbon.

From a nurse who has worked in cancer for a long time, Hodgkins (HD) is not the first thing that would have jumped into my head!
I'd say its more likely that acidity of the wine.
Not all acidity levels are the same and you said you dilute your apple cider vinegar. If you had HD, you wouldn't only be symptomatic after a glass or two of vino.

Sounds like an ulcer or done other tummy sensitivity to alcohol which can suddenly happen.

Hopkins lymphoma symptoms are usually lumps in neck/groin/under arm and night sweats (others too hit can't remember off top of head)

Thanks guys, I should have mentioned I also have hard lumps near my groin that come and go, which together with the alcohol sensitivity made me a bit concerned.
Sounds like an ulcer could be a more viable option than I thought, good news!

Definitely get it checked out especially if you have some lymph-node swelling.

More than likely its a tummy issue and will need an endoscopy to have a look at what's happening inside there x

My first thought was gall stones, I've never had them but my SIL did and she had the pain you are describing after drinking alcohol.

Good luck xx let us know how you go

Oh wow. I hope everything is OK!

I did used to get horrible tummy and chest pain when drinking white spirits at times, never really thought much about it, would just stop drinking and it would stop.

I really don't drink any more, so I don't know if it still happens.
