Has anyone made the chicken nuggets from the edc? Did they freeze okay and if you froze them how did you reheat them?
I'm wanting to make a batch for dd and freeze a lot.

That roast chicken recipe looks fab! Will have to try it, as my little man (16 months old) seems to have adopted roast chicken as his favourite food.

I just made Quirky's coconut caramel custard for the first time. I licked the bowl clean. I'm trying to let it set in the fridge and my mum keeps telling me off because I keep picking at it!!!!

I've made these nuggets a couple of times and they freeze well. I just fully cook then freeze in smaller portions for DS and then defrost in the fridge/bench and microwave for a few seconds.

I just purchased a new e-book from 'Vegie Smugglers' that has 30 recipes converted for the Thermy. If anyone wants a copy, PM me and I'll email a copy

    Hi fellow thermie 'cult' members

I have a question for you guys, I made a whole heap of baby food (pureed steamed veggies) for my 6 month old last night from Louise Fulton-Keats Baby and Toddler cookbook.

I'm wondering if anyone knows how much you can cook at once because I was at it for about 4 hrs...

The recipes have instructions for 250g if veg to cook at once, but that doesnt make alot and i only have one chace a week to make all the bubs food up. I'm wondering if anyone knows whether I could just chuck the Varoma on top with a whole heap more veggies in, as well as the basket I'm cooking the 250g in???

    TIA

I don't follow recipes for puree. I just make heaps. .. and freeze!
You can just steam loads in the basket and freeze as much as you want. In any combination of veg you like. I also do the same for fruit.
It doesn't matter how you cook it in my opinion. I would steam some in the basket if you wanted plus more in the varoma trays and then whizz up. So much easier. Just make sure you put enough water in the bowl for steam times.

I've made the baby food recipes from that book and have doubled the recipes with no issues. I've also done it like Tamtam and put heaps of vegies in the varoma with the meat in the rice basket and then pureed it up at the end.

Also, just thought I'd let you all know that you can buy the new version of the EDC for $25 during February (usually $40). Apparently it's not a whole lot different but there are some new recipes and from what I've heard the book doesn't fall apart like the original one. I'm picking mine up in a couple of days and am looking forward to comparing the two!

Just made the bolognaise from edc. I do not like it!!! Texture is gross!! I guess it's the first thing that thermie does that I'm not terribly keen on.
