I haven't read it all but I do think its a bit silly that no-one helped them out before they left the hospital. Knowing that all the media were going to be there its quite an important thing to do right! The problem is so many people will see the picture and assume that is the correct way to do things - and won't have babies in such safe cars etc. plus with the wrapping its in the 30s in the UK right now so the poor thing would've been very warm! Good luck to them but shame on those who didn't prepare them better for silly mistakes like that!

It was going from a air conditioned hospital to an air conditioned car. It was fine.

It's the parents responsibility to make themselves informed on these issues. It's not everyone else's responsibility for not holding their hand...

I agree but think of the huge amount of pressure on her. They were bound to forget something. Yes it shouldn't have been that but still the number of people they have around them that have experience in these things you would've thought that at least one person would've said something!

I just saw it on the news, Kate gets in the back with him and, to me, you can see her adjusting him.

I don't know, but he didn't say anything about time "alone" with the baby. He said "It's the first time we have seen him really so we are having a proper chance to catch up".

She had the baby at 4:24pm the day before and this was around 6pm the next day. Plenty of time to be with your new baby. It was an odd way of expressing it I guess, I hope he meant time with the baby without families and medical staff.

...After reading all this, I just want to say.....a) Princy didn't look happy to go for a drive lol, B) felt so so sorry for Kate having to come outside (for goodness sakes!) the day after she gave birth and face all that frenzy. There's no way I could have done that! And c) thank goodness I don't have the added pressure of being a celebrity. As for the capsule - I'm sure the hospital and the assistant of the assistant of the assistant of the royal couples PA would have drilled it into them - "Whatever you do, DO NOT forget to strap bub in properly or you'll never hear the last of it!" And
they would have practiced it a zillion times, like I did I reckon.

Yeah it definitely came across as the baby had been taken away and probably spent the night in a nursery etc

I find it sad really. Assuming the baby was well (which since they were discharged 24 hours after birth, it most likely was) skin to skin and bonding with mum in those first 24 hours is going to do so much more for the baby then any sort of medical tests is going to do. How many threads do we read on BH about women who were separated from their babies for many hours post birth and how its negatively affected them?

Maybe he had to go to special care for some reason.
