Default On the verge of separation

Hi Bub Hub readers, I hope you can help me out. I work part time, have 3 children and have a mortgaged home with my husband. We were separated for 2 years before and came back together last year. The cracks however have been surfacing for a while and I feel sick even writing this. We bought our home this year in January so I don't know if Centerlink will take kindly to me or not? I am just concerned and feel trapped at the same time. I don't know what to do? Does anyone know if I can get Single Parenting Payment when I have a mortgage in my name as well? What is the limit for cutting off assistance? Thank you for reading, please advise soon. Cheers, PP

Have you tried using the online centrelink rates estimator? It might give you an idea of what/if rates you may be entitled to.

Having a mortgage won't affect your eligibility for assistance unless your share of the equity is hundreds of thousands of dollars *hugs*

    Hugs.

We had our small mortgage for only 18 months when he left, so not much $ in it. It didn't effect my CL.

You're not stupid. The online calculators can be a bit confusing if you haven't really used them before. Would you be able to call them and have a chat?

Centrelink online is the worst! Just give them a call and see what they say. You should still get SPP + child support

I'm pretty sure you'll still get SPP but not rent assistance.

I am just trying to register for the phone help so I can keep my place after 5 minutes of holding. It's really bad at home and the marriage is more or less over. I need to somehow dig myself out of a hole and find somewhere to live. Rents are atrocious and after being off work due to being in hospital 4 times this year I had to use the money I had saved to pay for my share of things. I think I am going to need a miracle. I find the calculators very confusing and the figures each time are never the same. I cannot drive for another 2 weeks as I had surgery just last week so the best way to find out what I need to know is to call and hopefully I don't have to hold all day. Thanks for all your help.
