I had the injection Channy, didn't even notice it but meant the placenta was delivered quickly which led to all the medical people clearing out fairly quickly. Worth it in my opinion

Bond, I hope your s&s works. That's good that bub is happy and healthy. Sending labour vibes your way

Channy, my hypnobirthing lady said that it was unlikely that they'd let me refuse the needle, but that I should request that they do it after the cord is clamped. I never requested that, and have no recollection of them giving me a needle, though I'm sure they did.

I agree with Toni, it did get the medical people out quickly. They left my placenta in a dish in my room for a couple of hours, it looked pretty gross.

I loved my pregnancy and birth so much, I'm ready to do it again (but will be waiting about a year before we start trying again)

I won't have it, not based on my current situation anyway. Circumstances change of course but in my ideal birth scenario I won't have it. No objections other than I really want to avoid drugs of any kind, including for that reason

Plus I'm not even sure they have syntocin on hand in the birthing centre anyway! Which is where I hope I will birth this boy!

In my experience the actual injection hurt like hell!

Eta: I know that's not any health pros or cons but just wanted to note my experience! :-)

I am bored at work so started researching birthing plans. There were a few things id never heard Of. Still not sure if I will get accepted into the birthing centre which might mean some things aren't available anyway.

Glad your little girl is okay Bond, hope she comes soon ouch poor DH!! Hope his back is okay and heals quickly xx

I'm not having any drugs during my birth (well that's what I'm hoping for!) and we are doing delayed cord clamping and placenta encapsulation so I'm happy for the placenta to come out in its own time.

Hope everyone had a great Wednesday!

I've had a wonderful day, DF took me to a beautiful rainforest and had a picnic by a waterfall for my birthday. Also got very spoilt he bought me a sewing machine as well as an overlocker so lots of crafting to be had!
