Firstly welcome to all our new members!!! It is great to see that we are getting a great little group together so we can impatiently wait out this period until we get to the exciting TTC stage.

Though whatever happens happens! One step at a time lol.
We have similar timing constraints - we don't want to start trying before June-July as we don't want a Dec baby, so we are aiming more for March.

How old is everyone, and how many bubs already?
I'm 23yo married for 5 months to partner of 6yrs, this will be our first attempt TTC

soon to be joining the TTC bandwagon ❤
We currently have a DS who is 2.5 years and a DD who is 10 months. We have a gap o 22 months and I think it is perfect!

Hi everyone, I'm also in the same boat as you gals. Ill be TTC #3 very late 2014, we were planning to try in dec this year however we are in the process of building a new house and it won't be finished until August next year. Also next year we have a best mates wedding interstate, and a business trip to Europe that ill be going on with my husband, so don't want to be pregnant for those things!

But I'm so impatient, part of me just wishes we were going to be doing it this year, but after a LOT of thought, it makes more sense to wait until the end of next year when we were settled into our new place. I have two DDs 20 months apart, I want a bigger age gap this time around and they will both be at school if I wait the extra few months.

And I am going to try to sway for a boy, but if we get another pink bundle then that's great too!

Seems everyone is waiting around for same reasons. We waiting till we buy our first home and then there's a holiday we planning to go to around June.

I haven't actually thought about a specific gender I want, I guess it really doesn't matter

I will join this thread. I am doing a lot of research on vitamins, vaccinations etc that need to up to date before TTC. I'm 32 hes 38 will be our first baby probably not till mid to late next year but when ever it happens we are ready. Our little house will be finished in a month or two. Very exciting.

Joined this forum a few months ago and still researching and madly reading all the threads.

    Good luck to everyone!

We had full bloods done and it turned out we were both low on vitamin B & D. We have been taking conceive well gold and ostelin for the last 2 months or so. Hopefully our levels are back where they should be! We will continue taking them until my eggs have been collected and frozen and until DF's UTD then she can switch to pregnancy vitamins.

We have also stopped drinking in sort of cola drinks. No Coke, Pepsi etc - apparently it is shocking for fertility. It's not the sugar or the caffeine, our Fertility Specialist said they aren't sure what it is in the recipe but they suspect its the same thing that colours it. She said they can see up to 50% decrease in fertility when someone drinks those. Crazy hey?!

We also both smoke but have been cutting down and will quit well before having eggs picked up. I had my tonsils out yesterday so I haven't had a smoke since Monday anyway. Hopefully I can quit now because I can't actually have one!! Fingers crossed!

Sorry for the essay - what else are people doing to prepare?

I will be going for my bloods in December and will start taking conceive well around then too to give my body 6 months to get the vitamin levels up if needed. I might take some extra folic acid just to be sure. I think I'll get DH to take a multi vit, not sure what one though, anybody got recommendations? Also, does DH need bloods done?

Side not is that everytime I see those Mumgo deals on the internet, I want to start buying e.g bottle packs, toys, wraps. Anyone got a secret baby stash? I've ready on TTC forums that many women do (I don't just yet, my mum has started one a clothes one lol)

Also, that's really interesting re Cola. I was right into my coke zero at lunch but don't have it anymore...just gone off it! So I guess that's a good thing in terms of fertility.

I don't smoke or drink, but I'm hoping DH will lower the drinking levels, and he definitely needs to quit smoking! That will be the big prep for us.
I can totally believe the cola story, that stuff is hardcore!! Luckily my parents brought me up to stay away from it so I naturally am not very interested in drinking it.
As I'm a fairly healthy young family we won't be doing much prep. In 6 months ill do a full blood works to check all my levels, and in 9 months ill start some pre natal vits. Other than that, I'd like to lose maybe 5-10kg get back into a more health friendly weigh range before stacking on the baby weight lol.

I've bought a whinny the pooh wall hanging I just couldn't resist!!
I know I'll be terrible at impulse buys WAY too early lol ill try to wait out until just a few months before I'm UTD haha :-/

Haha love impulse buys! We haven't bought anything yet - except for some carpet!! We are having our room and the future nursery re-carpeted we did also go and look at all the furniture and essentials that we want. We picked out a cot, change table, baby monitor, pram, car seat, high chair etc. That was really exciting even though its now just a quote sitting at home. At least we got to have a look at everything and we have an approx price for everything!

As for the cola - I used to drink it quite a bit but have not had a drop since the FS told me that. I can't even remember what it tastes like!

I would love to shed some weight before they harvest my eggs. I won't be carrying first but need to make sure the blood flowing through my ovaries is tip top

Mrs T - how is DH dealing with the prospect of quitting? I have to admit I still wasn't sure how I would quit. I want to have children more than I could ever explain but it didn't take away the thought of 'oh I'll just buy one last packet'. Now that I haven't had one since Monday I am thinking that this will be the way I quit. I am in so much pain that I can't even swallow saliva let alone light up a smoke - it would burn so much!! Makes me cringe. Anyway - I think this is how I will quit. I mean if I can't have one for another week or so then why would I just go back to it? It would make no sense to even have one after going weeks without. I just have to keep reminding myself.

Sorry for the long posts - I am such a chatty person and now that I physically can't talk to anyone it's nice to be able to write to people

Lol don't worry I'm a long poster too!! We can bore everyone together with our essays :-P
DH says he understands the logic, and knows he has to, but has up to this point been nothing but obstinate and made no attempt to actually actively quit.
It's caused more than a few fights because his reasoning is "but I want one" and that's that, can't break through his annoying little logic brain lol.
I wish we could go out looking for things. I'd be afraid it would all be too much and I would just start buying everything lol.
Seeing as we are still saving we may as well stay away from the shops haha :-/
    For now anyway!!

Rainbow, chat away! I've got a chatty group of ladies from dd's dig (due in group) and its great. Especially when you're doing it tough, it can be nice to 'offload' all your thoughts

Its great to hear you are all wanting to save $$ before bubs. Dh and I did it that way, made sure we were as set up as possible and that we had enough extra cash to at least get me through the 1st year. We did so well that the money we had saved ended up going onto the mortgage as we can get by on just dh's wage. I'm grateful we are in this position and that there is no need for me to return to work at all.

Though after the night I had with a sick and screaming 16mo last night, I would prefer to be anywhere but home today!
