How exciting!!! Is this the first time using a clinic? I'm not sure if I have already asked you that. I can't remember how your DD was conceived.

I was so excited but also extremely nervous for our first appointment because we also had the counselling on the same day and I was scared that they would be judging us to see if we would be good parents before signing it off lol.

As soon as we got into it though I felt much more relaxed and everything went perfectly! What clinic did you decide on? Please let us know how you get on!! Would love to here what your experience is like.

Also, it's super cute that your DP and mum were making baby plans. It's good to have support from family Our families are always pushing us to move faster *rolls eyes*

Yeah at this point it feels rather abstract. Yes we are planning a baby, yes this money is going towards a baby. But then u step back and just think for a second and ur like hang on this a BABY! lol well that's how it is for me anyway :-P

Good luck to our clinic girls. Obviously I can't relate to the experiences, but I hope everything goes well for you ladies :-)

Yes this is the first time through clinic DD was conceived at home. We decided to go with Fertility first at Hurstville.

We are also having the counselling session on the same day. Quite nervous about that. What can we expect on that session. It will be in September though as we had to book a Saturday appointment, that should give me enough time to panic and hopefully prepare

Trust me when I say there is absolutely nothing to be worried or nervous about Here is a snipet of my TTC diary about the appointment..

'We were asked a range of questions about our immediate family, how we planned to tell our little ones about how they were conceived, how we planned to do the process i.e who would carry, how many children we want, some questions about our relationship, how we felt about donating/ discarding left over embryos and lots of other questions! We both felt completely comfortable the whole time and almost cried when the counsellor stopped and said we will make terrific parents.'

You guys will be okay the counsellor there is really sweet and she made us feel at ease straight away. We didn't feel like we were being tested at all and she said something has to be be extremely concerning for her not to sign the consent forms.

Dr Clarke is great, some people find her a bit matter of fact like but she has been incredibly sweet with us. She has been very reassuring and you can tell she knows what she is talking about!

We also waited about 4 weeks for our Saturday appointment. Where abouts do you live in Sydney? Are you travelling very far?

We in Campbelltown at the moment but we buying a house in the hills area by the time we actually start the process we would be in the new place. Its a bit of a distance but not that bad, I don't mind it much and neither does DP

I am not sure if this has been discussed but when is everyone actually going to start trying? We are looking to start in January.

I have mostly dark wood around the house but we have quite dark wood floors in our spare room (which will become the nursery) so it will probably be a bit much in there to have dark furniture with the dark floors.. I would love to buy a rug to put in lounge room to lighten up in there but I'm a broke uni student at the moment! I'm sure one in the nursery would change the dark feeling too.. I'm so indecisive though, I'll change my mind a hundred times before finally settling on something or DF tells me "just pick something!"
