Yeah definitely find it hard with others around falling pregnant! A friend who knew we were trying to get things in order decided she would start trying just for fun and got pregnant! Glad for her but it kind of felt like a burn for us. Not so much now that it's sunk in but at first I was soooo annoyed.

Haha Mertile - as for your slip up.. Maybe that was my fault because I've been calling you Hopefully?! You must have been like who on earth is Mertile?

I actually think it's fantastic to see a bunch of people being responsible and thinking about finances, health and being ready for kids so everyone should be proud

That's why we aren't telling anyone. No point bringing it up when it's still ages anyway, and don't need the added stress. We will announce in due time :-)
What's everyone's plans? Tell parents immediatly and everyone else at 12wks? Tell everyone straight away?
I'm a firm believer on only select few hear before 12wks but how the hell do u keep the most amazing news in your life off the radar??? Lol :-/

I'm undecided on the waiting 12 weeks to tell people.. We probably will because as soon as we tell my MIL the whole of the Central Coast will know and after having to tell people over and over about our miscarriage last time it's just not worth the heartache. In saying that, I don't know if I'll be able to keep it from my mum or my best friend!

I know I have thought about this a lot. I think I'd tell my mum and sister and not dh parents but up to him. I think id wait to 12 weeks. If we did tell dh parents we would tell them not to tell his brothers. So I think that's something I don't want to burden them with. It would be a hard secret to keep. Dh isn't very close to his brothers and they aren't very supportive. So if anything happened in first trimester, I wouldn't feel comfortable with them knowing...sad really. I'd def want the support of my mum and sister though. Friends would be 12 weeks. I don't think I could handle them asking me if I was ok if something happened. Hmm you may be able to tell I'm a pretty private person also when did I become so cautious!!

I know! I couldn't believe it when she told me. She already has a couple of kids and said she would try for another later down the track but then we started telling her about choosing a clinic etc and then suddenly she had a bun in the oven. I have kind of gotten over it now but at the time it was almost like she wanted to take something away from what we are planning. We had a lot of people asking us for updates and getting excited for us and then she announced that but nobody really made a fuss. It's funny because DF and I work together and this friend also works with us so that's probably would made it seem worse...

We have decided that we won't really be telling anyone until DF is out of the first trimester. I think at most we would tell her mum and my mum... and bub hubbers!!

As much as I can't wait to share that news with everyone, it would be too hard to tell everyone if something went wrong.

    Wow what a chatty bunch!

I feel a little left out though, because DH and I did things the opposite way :P

We had DS1 when I was 20 and followed by DS2 14 months later. I wouldn't change it for the world, and I'm very lucky that DH earns enough that I am able to stay at home with the boys.

One of the reasons we are having a bigger gap this time though is because we are saving for our house deposit to buy next year and then TTC once we've bought

I am super duper clucky though, and if it was up to me I'd be up the duff already :P
